Saturday 9th March & Sunday 10th March

Well Verwood Town Band gave a credible performance for their first time competing in the 3rd section and despite receiving some good comments from spectators and brass band publication who placed the band third, the adjudicators, who are the ones that count on the day, placed Verwood Town Band 15th.

It would of course have been nicer to have been placed higher but the band stay in the 3rd section to fight another day and build on the experience.

Well done Verwood Town Band and many congratulations to winners Gosport Solent Brass, 2nd placed Poole Borough Band and 3rd placed South Molton Town Band and all of the other bands that took part in a very enjoyable contest.

Verwood Concert Brass came 7th (out of 13 bands) which is a great result competing at this highest level.

The overall result was pretty much to form with many congrats going to the winners – Flowers, 2nd Aldbourne, 3rd Filton, 4th Woodfalls, 5th Camborne and 6th St Dennis.

The 7th place result now affirms VCB as being a well established championship band.
