Both bands had a very good day a the West of England regional contest in Torquay on Sunday.

Firstly Verwood Town Band secured 1st place in the Third section. Earning them another trip to the National Finals in Cheltenham in September.

Secondly Verwood Concert Brass Principal Band managed to secure 4th place in the Championship section. This is a huge achievement considering the sheer standard of playing required at this level.

And if that wasn’t enough, our musical director Kevin Smith not only lead our two bands to contest victories but also Michelmersh band to 2nd place in the First section on Saturday, also qualifying for the National Finals.
